Yes they do. I guess that falls under "backlash for criticism".
Another similarity I can think of is gushing about themselves. Positivity ad nauseum, with little if any objectivity.

The regime is incredibly image-conscious. It choreographs everything, especially when it comes to the leader.
The OPI (Office of Public Infprmation) is used all the time on jw.org articles as quotes from 'representatives' of the organization on the style of a press release.
And, yes, it was David Semonian who was quoted in the Prince press release, made in response to a direct inquiry.

If these pictures aren't "brazen", (to borrow one of their pet words), I don't know what is. The disgusting nature of these images just shows their arrogant attitude and the contempt with which they viewed others, starting in the time of Rutherford.
